A great career opportunity has arisen for a level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our team here at Little Dolphins Day Nursery Ltd.

The successful candidate must have completed a level 3 childcare qualification. We are
looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and caring individual to join our team. The position is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Knowledge of the Early Years
Foundation Stage (EYFS), Safeguarding children and experience of observing, planning and assessing children’s development would be beneficial.


  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Be aware of all fire evacuation procedures, security and Safeguarding children policies
  • Ensure and maintain Health and Safety cleanliness throughout the nursery in all areas, of all equipment and ensure general cleanliness of children always
  • Proactive in being able to work through the daily routine in the room and working together as a team and with your room leader to constructively consolidate about each individual child’s direction for learning
  • Support and mentor students
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the nursery
  • Provide a fun, stimulating, safe, secure and educational environment for all the children within the room ensuring extensive provisions are available
  • Plan and prepare a variety of activities to meet individual children’s needs following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and evaluate previous planning according to how appropriate it is for the room
  • Being proactive in orchestrating heuristic and craft activities
  • Develop and promote working in partnership with parents and colleagues and involvement of other family members to support and improve their child’s development and extending their learning during free play irrespective of their next steps
  • Help and encourage children to develop in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) such as Social, Emotional, Physical and intellectual development
  • Observe and support children’s learning and development and maintain accurate records electronically via the EYLog system and in their individual learning journals
  • Ensure the company’s policy on Equality and Inclusion are adhered to
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and staff handbook
  • Positive management of children’s behaviour according to our Behaviour management policy
  • Being a positive role model for the children all the while being approachable
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that mealtimes are supervised
  • Attendance of regular staff meetings arranged by the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager
  • Plan and participate in regular parent’s evenings
  • Laundry duties
  • Work alongside outside agencies such as Educational Psychologists, SENCO’S, Speech and Language Therapists and relevant Local Authority Departments
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Room Leader/Nursery Manager
