Welcome to Little Discoverers, we provide care for children aged 3 months to 2.5 years, we are deployed across two spacious rooms. We provide and plan fun and stimulating activities to help provide the best start possible into their early education.
Within the Little Discoverer’s our main interests are sensory play, exploratory play, role play and getting cosy in our reading area.
In our Little Discoverers Room, we strive to provide a fun, stimulating and thought-provoking environment, filled with new exploratory experiences adapted to captive the individual child. We ensure there are specific areas that link to the curriculum such as our lovely home corner, which has a new themed lay out monthly which is determined based on the children’s interests.
Our construction area is for the children to build their imagination, construct simple arrangements and/or structures, encourage some simple counting words or just creating towers to knock back down again. There is a mark making station for the children, so they can use palmar grasp or pincer grip when showing us their creative skills. We proudly display their artwork around the room, as well as updating our Famly App with newsfeeds daily so each of our families can see what each of the children have been up to.
We have a key person system where each individual child is assigned a key worker to complete observations, learning journeys and snapshots that will build a lovely journey individually catered to each child.
Our Little Discoverers enjoy weekly trips to the local library, woodland walks and trips to the park. We also enjoy termly themed trips such as visiting the soft play center in Bexleyheath.
Furthermore, we explore the garden twice a day for fresh air, we engage in ‘sing and sign’ with our base practitioners and Jo Jingle sessions with Victoria
