Our Big Adventures Room is a warm and welcoming space for children aged 2½ to 5 years old. We can care for up to 20 children each day, always implementing the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to make sure every child receives the right care, attention, and support.
The room has a homely and calm atmosphere, where children feel happy, secure, and ready to explore. At this age, children are developing independence and confidence, but still need plenty of care and guidance — and that’s exactly what our experienced team provides.
We offer free-flow access to our outdoor area, giving children the freedom to move between inside and outside play throughout the day. In addition, we enjoy dedicated garden time twice a day, encouraging children to explore nature, develop physical skills, and enjoy the fresh air.
Our daily routine supports all seven areas of learning in the EYFS curriculum. Each day is filled with opportunities for creative play, construction, small world play, imaginative role play in the home corner, and arts and crafts. We also take part in exciting weekly sessions such as Jo Jingles, Phonic Stars, and Yoga, which help to build confidence, coordination, and a love for music, movement, and early literacy.
To support children’s communication and language development, we use Wellcomm and Talk Boost programmes, helping every child to develop their speech, understanding, and confidence in talking.
We nurture children’s imagination through carefully planned monthly themes, focused activities, and daily plans, ensuring each child’s interests and ideas are at the heart of their learning. Our team works closely together to create experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
We also love to get out and about! Each week we visit the Irish Community Centre, we enjoy talking the children each week to the local area by supporting the community, we take a small group to litter pick and show the importance of the environment. We also attend local library, and we go on regular walks to explore the local area. These experiences help children build strong connections with their community and learn about the world around them.
